A dyed-in-the-wool creative, Jon pursued the performing arts from an early age. A talented actor, gifted singer, and multi-instrumentalist, Jon explored various artistic disciplines before eventually confirming his passion for theatre. After graduating from acting training, Jon quickly developed a broad experience of stage and screen performance. working with several resident and repertory companies across the country, and touring all over the world.

Jon is an experienced writer, with works including A Long Road Home, Dreamkeepers, and Cinderella. His one-man production, The Forgotten Tales, has received critical acclaim at venues and festivals across the country, and was featured as a Big Issue North select show.

After a decade in the industry, Jon began to feel that the theatre was often seen as a luxury of the wealthy and the middle classes. A firm believer that the arts are for everyone, Jon wanted to explore a performance discipline which had no barriers to entry, and could go to practically anywhere at any time, and began to explore and develop the art of stripped-back, solo storytelling.

Unlike many of his contemporaries, Jon was uniquely interested in the distilled heart of all performance; simply a person with a story to share. Following in the footsteps of storytellers, bards, poets and playwrights before him, Jon has has earned a reputation for finely honed, riveting, and hilarious storytelling performances.

Jon established Parable Arts in 2014. Formers as a multi-disciplinary arts collective, Parable exists to explore the art of storytelling; bringing forgotten and half-remembered stories to life, and providing them a platform to shine.
